Born in 1916 in Sicilia, Ico Parisi is, nowadays, considered as one of the most influential designers of the 1950s. Student of the rationalist Giuseppe Terragni, he created « Global » architectures, in which he melted architecture and furniture. Through his conceptions, Parisi transcribed his purely modernist ideas to 1930’s urbanism. In 1945, he organized his first exhibition as a designer and in 1948, with his wife, he founded an architecture and design agency wich was called « La Rueta ». His lightings were produced by Arteluce, a famous editing house founded by Gino Sarfatti.
